The American Ambulance Association (AAA) and Newton 360, an Emergency Medical Services (EMS)-based workforce management software platform, joined forces again this year to conduct the sixth annual survey of employee turnover in the EMS industry. The 2024 survey presents turnover data from 171 EMS organizations, representing more than 28,488 employees.

In recent years, EMS organizations have shown remarkable resilience and adaptability in addressing workforce shortages that have impacted the profession for nearly a decade. EMS agencies continue to develop innovative approaches to meet workforce needs and explore new opportunities to expand their role in delivering preventive and community-based healthcare.
