With the rollout of 988 this July, the services provided by America’s Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Crisis Lifeline will be expanded to offer a direct connection to compassionate, accessible care for anyone experiencing suicidal thoughts or emotional distress. This session will include a snapshot of the current impact behavioral health calls have on the nation’s emergency health care system. It will also cover how we – as the safety net healthcare provider in communities across the country – stand to gain from this systematic improvement to how people in crisis can access appropriate mental health care.
