 Promoting Suicide Safety for EMS Providers

A recent survey conducted by the Ambulance Service Manager Program reports that more than 37% of EMS Provider respondents reported having thoughts of suicide at some point in his/her life. Additionally 6.6% reported having attempted suicide at some point in the past. In 2013, more than 41,000 individuals died by suicide in the United States. Researchers estimate that over 1 million additional people attempted suicide within that same year. Some people who fail in their attempt to commit suicide go to an emergency room and are connected with help. Others never tell anyone, and continue to struggle in isolation. Go now►
