The case, Payment Card Interchange Fee Settlement, alleges activity that includes collusion which artificially inflated the interchange fee that all AAA members paid to accept Visa and MasterCard branded credit cards. The proposed settlement provides that any merchant that accepted Visa and MasterCard credit cards at any time between January 1, 2004 and January 25, 2019 will be entitled to participate in the $5.54 billion-dollar settlement.
